DATURA

Datura lyrics recall the feeling of the daturas flowers perfume, a whisper at first, almost imperceptible, then slowly melting into the skin, lingering in the mind, strong and intoxicating. The effect unfolds in layers, each note deeper than the last, revealing a darkness that seduces but remains detached. Born in Venice and based in Berlin since 2003, Datura is a visual artist that came to rap through street art, community based art projects, and poetry. After healing from cancer in 2024, the words once left on walls in form of graffiti became stories, notes about life, loss, hope, love. Based on personal experiences and, often detached observations about the human behaviour, the lyrics are sharp visual descriptions of a life that can be relentless and still filled with poetry. The artist often speaks about fate, and describes destiny as inevitable pre written path. Thoughts dissolve into sound, that listeners wear like a scent: intimate, and impossible to wash away.
